Sad news Donleavy Fitzpatrick, the man who, in 1989, opened the Dog's Bar and was the catalyst that changed Melbourne licensing laws, creating the bar culture we all enjoy today, passed away at 11pm on Thursday 21st February aged 61. He had been suffering from cancer of the brain for several years and had bravely fought his illness, which when first diagnosed in 2002, had given him less than a year to live. I have put a few links to other websites that you might care to look at, to learn more about Donlevy and what he achieved. http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2008/02/24/1203788146623.html http://www.tomatom.com/2008/02/donlevy-fitzpatrick-rip/ http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2003/12/13/1071125710788.html http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2003/12/13/1071125710826.html http://www.miettas.com.au/chefs/chefs_96-00/donlevy.html http://nla.gov.au/anbd.bib-an41884423
